Hoboken Mayor Peter Cammarano Arrested by FBI, Beth Mason does “jig”

Hizzoner Peter Cammarano was arrested by the FBI this morning.
Almost no person I know is even remotely surprised.  He is a politician in Hudson County, New Jersey.

If you are involved in Hudson County Politics, you are associating with criminals. Period.

Call me a liar and I’ll call you a lawyer.

So do we still have to listen to the “Old Hoboken” bigmouths who never shut up about the glory of “Old Hoboken”?  Because I do believe “Old Hoboken” is BACK and in its’ glory!

Can you even imagine all the “no show” jobs that are going to have to be vacated and replaced by somebody elses brother in law?  What a shame.

Dear Friends,

All I can say right now are two simple words: Thank You!

Two days ago, you spoke loudly and clearly in the voting booth. You proved that elections aren’t about who has the most money or who cuts the most deals. Rather it’s about laying out a clear vision for the future.

From the start, our campaign has been about getting Hoboken back on track for the first time in a long time. Our efforts didn’t just begin a few weeks ago. We’ve been hard at work for months now laying the groundwork for the results we saw two nights ago. And more than anyone, you deserve the credit for volunteering your time – talking with neighbors, making phone calls, knocking on doors, writing letters and contributing your hard-earned resources so we could spread our message of real change and lower taxes.

I specifically want to thank my running mates Angel Alicea, Frances Rhodes-Kearns and Mike Novak. It’s been an honor to campaign with them these past few months. And while it is uncertain which Council candidates will be participating in the run-off election, I know that Mike, Fran and Angel will be in our corner 100%, as our campaign continues our work to finish what we started.

I’ll be in touch soon. The run-off election is just a few weeks away, and the deadline to register to vote is by 4pm this Tuesday, May 19. I need your help now more than ever to bring about an efficient, accountable and transparent government. Together, we can regain control of our city to deliver lower taxes and real change for our families.

Thank you,

~ Peter Cammarano

P.S. Elections are about ideas. So, if you haven’t checked it already, please visit our website to view our Blueprint for Hoboken’s Future. Here you can learn all about the real change we’re fighting to bring to Hoboken.

Handshakes and congratulations, for a moment.

It must be quite a sense of vindication in the Cammarano Camp. The thick, black mud thrown by local bloggers about non-campaign issues seems to have pushed many a supporter their way late in the game.

There are many local artists who have swung to support Cammarano for Mayor in the last week.

You can join many some local artists for Cammarano at The Shannon at 106 First Street in Hoboken.

Handshakes and congratulations. Till tomorrow.

Handshakes and congratulations. Till tomorrow.

There will be a runoff election against Dawn Zimmer for Mayor of Hoboken.

We hope this runoff is a bit less “muddy” now that two very honorable campaigns remain.

Best of luck to both candidates and supporters.
Keep it classy.

Hudson County Diversity Action Council endorses Cammarano

On Monday, May 4th, Hudson Diversity Action Council announced our endorsement of
Peter Cammarano as Hoboken’s next Mayor along with At-Large Council candidates
Michael Novak, Frances Rhodes-Kearns and Angel Alicea. Citing the team’s efforts to
bring the people of Hoboken together, their dedication to create positive and meaningful
change, and their commitment to all communities of this great city, our choice was clear.
We stand with Peter and his team to see real change in Hoboken.

Peter’s record as a friend to diverse communities has been both consistent and clear.
He has publically supported full Marriage Equality for all couples and stood firm in favor
of the progress of Hoboken’s creative communities. Peter holds a solid stance in favor
of the enforcement and prosecution of hate-motivated crimes across the city and will
bring increased safety and security to all.

A central focus of the Cammarano team’s message has been the preservation of St.
Mary’s hospital. While across the state, hospitals are being allowed to fold, Peter is
fighting to keep the vital benefits of this facility available to local residents. Among the
services made available through St. Mary’s is Hudson County’s longest running
program serving those living with HIV/AIDS. Faith Services is a vital part of the Hudson
County tapestry and the Cammarano team will stand firm to ensure those services and
many others remain available to residents of Hoboken and across Hudson County for
many years to come.

His forward-thinking approach to government, his consistently progressive voice, and
his ability to bring people together make Peter Cammarano the right person to lead
Hoboken through this time in our history. Hudson Diversity Action Council strongly
encourages a vote in support of the entire Cammarano team on May 12.
Sincerely,
Walt Boraczek
President

Cammarano Mayoral Candidacy

Peter Cammarano is the “Obama” of online marketing in Hoboken.

There is no candidate with a better strategy for using the internet as his soapbox and megaphone. Peter has created a great website, and surrounded it with 3rd party sites featuring keyword rich content. These 3rd party sites are represented by the likes of YouTube.com, Vimeo, Facebook, etc.

Other locals have taken to upgrading their own web presence in the wake of the recent presidential campaign and its’ emphasis on technology as a tool.

Some of us are glad to see politicians at least try and keep up with the private sector in use of small business technology.
